The work to sand the floor is custom, so your floor will be completed with your choice of stain color, finish sheen and products applied within these same standards of quality and refined to suit your style and taste.

Pre-Job Site Sanding Requirements:

  • The building should be completely closed in, with outside windows, and doors in place.
  • All other trades should have completed their work and no other traffic should be allowed during the sanding and finishing process.
  • Air conditioning, heating, and ventilation systems should be operating.
  • The temperature and relative humidity should be at 'normal living conditions.
  • Furniture, appliances and old floor coverings should be removed during the entire process.

Sanding and Finishing Expections

  • There will be noise, dust and some vapors during the sanding and finishing process.
  • Even though we will seal off the work areas from other rooms, dust from the sanding process could infiltrate to other areas of the house.
  • Because of the vapors that will be released during the finish applications, pilot lights may need to be turned off.
  • Please keep pets and children from the work areas.
  • A typical finish job (approximately 1,000 square feet) takes. About 2 days of actual sanding, with one day for the stain to dry -meaning a full drying day, on the third or fourth day the first application of finish is done and each following consecutively for a total of three coats of finish.
  • Our work hours are from 6:45 a.m. to 4 p.m.
  • When the work is completed you ma y follow with touch up painting to the base shoe and trim. Painting should always follow floor sanding work.
  • General clean up of dust must also follow the work.
  • Finishes require cure time, although they may appear dry on the surface it is best to allow at least 10 days for rugs or any heavy foot traffic.
  • After the job is completed your estimator will go over the job with you on site and maintenance procedures will be reviewed.
